DVPA "Quick and Current" - May 29, 2009

 

The DVT Tower Manager, Toby Jones, is now directly available for questions via the Deer Valley Pilots Association web site. Log on to the website at http://www.dvtpilot.com/ and look for the connection or logon directly to http://www.dvtpilot.com/contacttowerlist.php  

Jones says that he welcomes all tower- and controller-related questions.

Mesa’s Falcon Field (KFFZ) will extend their daily controlled operating hours again this year according to Harold L. Sharp, Air Traffic Manager, Falcon Field ATCT.

Daily controlled operations will begin at 0500 LCL starting June 7 and will continue until Aug. 29. Sharp expects this to become an annual occurrence.

Williams-Gateway (KIWA) runway 12C/30C will be closed 24/7 for 3 weeks starting June 1 according to Gregory A Blunk Jr., Air Traffic Manager, Gateway FCT. The runway should re-open June 22.

This closure will include taxiway “Kilo” between runway 12R/30L and runway 12L/30R (midfield taxiway.) Aircraft that full-stop on the outside runway will only be able to exit the runway at the ends.

The airport will still be able to conduct practice approaches to runway 30C with restricted low approaches for non-heavy aircraft only.

These closures will be included in a NOTAM.
