DVPA "Quick and Current" - Friday August 21, 2009
Why do you fly?
Everyone has a reason and probably a good story behind it.
DVPA needs your story for the picnic "Gathering of Eagles." You don't have to include your name if you wish but it is preferred. We're proud of our members.
Send your story to: communications@dvtpilot.com
Once you have made a successful wilderness emergency landing, your problems are not over. You are down but you are not out and the absence of 121.5 MHz satellite monitoring adds to the problem!
Survival in this situation is an expertise of DVPA's new director, Dr. Charles Crinnian, MD, and he would very much like to conduct sessions on this topic if the interest is there.

The Deer Valley Flight Bag, DVT's main terminal pilot shop, will continue selling aeronautical charts even in light of the FAA's reduction in authorized vendors nationwide, according to owner, Mike Hasa.
"We want to do even more to serve Deer Valley pilots," Hasa said. "DVPA apparel products are still on sale but I want to expand my aircraft product line.
"I have authorization to stock aviation motor oil but I need pilot and other customer input to stock what people want," Hasa added.
Hasa has requested that customers e-mail suggestions to admin@dvtflightbag.com.
