  • BEWARE of increased MD80 aircraft traffic near IWA Allegiant Air is operating MD-80 aircraft from IWA with flight paths generally beneath the Class "B" airspace (5,000 feet and below) requiring pilots to be increasing vigilant in the area east of IWA. See attached flight paths.

  • Aerobatic Box on backside of Estrella Mtns used by GYR German Air Force training school   Luke Special Air Traffic Rules  - This is the ATCA annual notification for our wavered aerobatic training area "ALPHA", located on the West side of the Estrella Mountains. This area is primarily used by the German Air Force for High Performance Maneuvering, formation flying, and spin training. Additionally, it is used for ATCA upset training. Frequency 128.92 is provided for communications and for hours of operation call ATCA flight operations (602) 932-1650. The training area is opened and closed with the PHX TRACON during operating hours. The aerobatic area is also published in the Airport Facilities Directory, page 319. The primary goal is safety and awareness of the activity in this area is primary to this goal. Please brief your instructors and students about this aerobatic training area.
